In the 'Mummy' movie, almost everything was made up...including the fact the Imhotep was a high priest. But, I've just found out that he WAS the high priest of Heliopolis, and also the very famous architect. Just thought i'd let ya know.(if you didn't know already!) _________________ |\| e F e r t i |< a u r E |

Indeed he was. Imhotep was the vizier who built the pyramids credited to Sneferu.

Yes. But our point is that Imhotep wasn't alive around Ankhsunamun's time. _________________

No I did not know he was a high priest and architect and I thought it was pretty cool. Jessica |

Amateurs, the lot of you.
Ankhesenamun (NOT "ANCK-sun-amun", a bastardization of the original name), was King Tutankhamun's wife in the 18th dynasty, which was in the NEW KINGDOM, not the Old Kingdom, and did not exist in the 19th dynasty with Seti I.
Seti never had a high priest named Imhotep, because Imhotep lived during the 4th dynasty (this is the Old Kingdom). Imhotep was never "evil" to begin with, and did no such deed as "touching pharaoh's wife". Rather, the real, historical Imhotep was a brilliant architect who invented the world's first pyramid. He was deified for this, not buried alive in some sarcophagus.
Thus all in all, there is absolutely no truth to The Mummy, from start to finish. It's a complete work of fiction, hardly accurate, but still good to watch. |

Yes, I'm sure we all did know that. But, Seti I COULD have had a priest named Imhotep. It's not like one person was named that and no one ever named their child that again! So it is possible. _________________ -Akhenaten- |
